Raspberry Blackout Cake
I celebrated my 30-something birthday at the beginning of the month. I made my own birthday cake, the Raspberry Blackout Cake from Vegan With A Vengeance, although it wasn’t as pretty as the time I made it for my sisters birthday. Its my go to cake for family birthdays. I don’t know a single person who doesn’t like that cake. It’s easy to make and raspberry and chocolate go perfectly together. My daughter has already requested it for her birthday at the end of August. She also requested the Double Dare Peanut Butter Cake from Nut Butter Universe. In another week I’m sure a 3rd cake will be requested!
Pad See Ew
We ordered some Thai takeout. Even though they added chicken to my Pad See Ew TWICE it was delicious when I finally got my correct order! Besides the Pad See Ew I also ordered my favorite Curry Puffs which are filled with potato-y goodness.
Now for the birthday gifts!
My husband bought me a machete! To open the coconuts the kids are alway’s having me buy. It was so much easier to open with the machete.
My Maa got me tickets to see The Killers a few days after my birthday! It was our second time seeing them this year. I love them and they put on an amazing show.
Not pictured is a new camera! For a year now almost all of my pictures have been taken with my iphone. My trusty point and shoot that took great photo’s crapped out on me after a few years of heavy use. I’m currently researching camera options. I can’t wait to have “real” photos on this site again instead of just pushing them all through instagram. I’m thinking of another point and shoot but a more souped up one. A DSLR would be ideal but in reality I wouldn’t carry it around with me. I think I’ll wait a few more years before going down that route plus I have one I can borrow from family.
